It is with great pleasure that I cordially invite you to my solo exhibition at the ART.EL space Galerie in the heart of Zurich’s Old Town.
Diese Ausstellung zeigt einen umfassenden Einblick in mein künstlerisches Schaffen der vergangenen Jahre.
Neben ausgewählten Frühwerken präsentiere ich meine neuesten Gemälde, die erst im Juli 2026 entstanden sind.
Abstract and representational works come together in an exhibition that illustrates the development of my distinctive visual language.
Seit mehr als 25 Jahren begleitet mich die Malerei auf meinem Lebensweg.
In meinen Werken verbinde ich Emotion, Farbe und Komposition zu einer eigenen künstlerischen Handschrift, die von Sammlerinnen und Sammlern in verschiedenen Ländern Europas geschätzt wird. Jedes Bild erzählt seine eigene Geschichte und lädt dazu ein, innezuhalten, zu entdecken und immer wieder neue Details zu erkennen.
Während der gesamten Ausstellungsdauer bin ich täglich persönlich vor Ort. Es ist mir eine besondere Freude, meine Besucherinnen und Besucher kennenzulernen, über meine Kunst zu sprechen und Einblicke in die Entstehung meiner Werke zu geben.

Why I am organising this exhibition
For me, an exhibition is much more than just displaying pictures. I would like to show my work to a wide audience, to move people with my art and to strike up a conversation with them. At the same time, I hope that my paintings will find a new home – with people who will enjoy looking at them every day.
Kunst gehört nicht ins Lager. Kunst gehört zu den Menschen. Ich freue mich darauf, Sie vom 22–29 August 2026 to welcome you in person at my solo exhibition in Zurich.
Probably the most personal picture in my exhibition
There is a painting that has been with me for many years: „Mondsucht“.
Ich habe es 1999 gemalt. Es war meine erste kubistische Arbeit – und der Beginn meines ganz eigenen künstlerischen Weges.
Dieses Bild markiert den Moment, in dem ich meine persönliche Bildsprache gefunden habe. Deshalb hat es für mich bis heute einen ganz besonderen emotionalen Wert.
Perhaps that is why it is being presented to the public in this form for the first time. It has never been sold before.

How is a LAPROKAY painting actually created?
Many visitors ask me why my paintings look so different in real life compared to photographs.
The reason lies in the way I work.
My paintings are created using numerous layers of acrylic paint built up on top of one another. I then continue working with oil paint, deliberately painting over individual areas to create depth and multiple layers within the image.
Cracks, textured finishes and hidden layers of paint make each piece unique.
This multidimensionality is almost impossible to capture in a photograph – its full effect is only apparent when viewed in person.
I look forward to showing you this technique in person during my exhibition.
Why you should experience art in its original form
Photographs show colours and shapes.
The original tells the whole story.
It is only when you stand directly in front of my paintings that the many layers become visible: delicate textures, overpainted areas, cracks, palette knife work and details that only reveal themselves upon closer inspection.
Many visitors discover something new every time they look.
That is precisely why I warmly invite you to experience my works not just online, but in person.

What goes through my mind when I’m painting?
When I paint, I feel free.
At moments like these, all that remains is the image and the story that is waiting to be told.
Each painting develops its own language as it takes shape. I trust my instincts, let myself be guided by colours and shapes, and keep working until the piece expresses exactly what I want to convey.
Perhaps that is precisely why each of my paintings has its own personality. I look forward to sharing these stories with you.
