In „WHAT“ verdichtet LAPROKAY einen flüchtigen Moment zu einer vielschichtigen Auseinandersetzung mit Wahrnehmung, Zweifel und innerer Spannung. Die junge Frau hält ihr Haar mit beiden Händen hoch, während ihr seitlicher Blick zwischen Aufmerksamkeit, Irritation und Selbstbefragung zu schweben scheint.
Das präzise ausgearbeitete Gesicht steht im spannungsvollen Kontrast zu den kubistisch fragmentierten Flächen von Körper und Umgebung. Türkis- und Blautöne dominieren die Komposition, während warme Hauttöne den emotionalen Mittelpunkt hervorheben. Feine Linien und geometrische Strukturen verbinden Figur und Hintergrund.
Der Titel „WHAT“ lässt die Situation bewusst offen und lädt dazu ein, die unausgesprochene Frage und die Geschichte hinter diesem Moment selbst weiterzudenken.

SAWA SAWA explores the themes of closeness, connection and cultural
An encounter conveyed through a visual language that is both powerful and sensitive.
Two women stand close together; the tender gesture of the figure on the left conveys a sense of trust, whilst the direct gaze of the woman on the right creates a strong connection with the viewer. Cubist-style fragmented planes give structure to the faces and clothing without detracting from their human expression.
Different skin tones are not presented as a contrast, but
a natural harmony. Shades of turquoise, green and blue characterise the composition, lending it depth and harmony. SAWA SAWA Iit thus becomes a poetic portrayal of trust, belonging and the unifying power of human closeness.

With ROOTS LAPROKAY explores the roots of human identity. Three characters – two adults and a child – journey together, symbolising family, bonds and the formative influences in our lives.
The distinctive combination of representational painting and Cubist-inspired, simplified forms lends the work a unique visual language. Harmonious shades of turquoise, blue and green, delicate lines and striking light-and-dark contrasts create depth and a calm yet powerful atmosphere.
The red construction lines symbolise the
invisible links between the past, the present and the future. ROOTS invites us to reflect on our own roots, memories and the people who have shaped our lives.
